We're looking for a skilled Cloud Engineer to design, build and maintain scalable cloud infrastructure on AWS. You'll work closely with engineering and product teams to drive reliability, performance and security across our cloud environment, with Python as the primary automation and scripting language.

Four buckets of ownership, from infrastructure design through the on-call rotation

Cloud Infrastructure

Design, deploy, and manage AWS infrastructure using infrastructure-as-code tools (Terraform, CloudFormation, or CDK)

Architect and maintain cloud-native solutions including compute (EC2, ECS, Lambda), storage (S3, RDS, DynamoDB), and networking (VPC, Route 53, CloudFront)

Build and optimize CI/CD pipelines to support continuous deployment across cloud environments

Implement auto-scaling strategies and cost optimization practices to improve efficiency

Security & Reliability

Apply AWS security best practices including IAM policies, security groups, KMS encryption, and secrets management

Implement observability solutions using CloudWatch, Datadog, or equivalent monitoring and alerting stacks

Define and enforce SLAs, SLOs, and incident response runbooks

Conduct cloud infrastructure audits and drive compliance with security frameworks (SOC 2, CIS Benchmarks)

Automation & Scripting

Write Python scripts and tools to automate infrastructure provisioning, monitoring, and incident response

Develop internal tooling and CLI utilities to reduce operational toil for engineering teams

Maintain and improve configuration management and deployment automation workflows

Collaboration

Partner with software engineers to design cloud-friendly application architectures

Participate in on-call rotations and support incident resolution

Document infrastructure patterns, runbooks, and architectural decisions

Required

3+ years of hands-on experience with AWS (EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, VPC, IAM, CloudWatch minimum)

Strong Python development skills, including scripting, automation, and SDK usage (boto3)

Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform or AWS CloudFormation

Solid understanding of networking concepts: DNS, load balancing, VPNs, subnetting

Familiarity with containerization (Docker) and orchestration (ECS or Kubernetes)

Experience with Linux systems administration in a cloud environment
